01The work
In “Listen, My Son, to the Silence”, Rafael Heredia Cuevas brings the poetic intensity of Federico García Lorca into sculpture and builds a work marked by intimacy and listening.
Two figures draw close in a restrained gesture that suggests protection, confidence and connection. The artist once again reduces the forms to the essential, letting the position of the bodies, the closeness of the faces and the movement of the hand concentrate all the expression. The white lacquered stoneware reinforces the serenity of the composition and lets light gently model its volumes.
Adding “Listen, My Son, to the Silence” to a collection means acquiring a unique work in which sculpture and poetry find common ground. At 43 × 30 cm it has a balanced presence and can be integrated naturally into private interiors or spaces linked to culture. The piece also brings a special literary sensibility: a work conceived to be contemplated slowly and to establish an intimate relationship with the viewer, like the one that lingers after reading a poem.
